Happy Birthday to my oldest son, Wade Simpkins!!
Sorry about the brevity of this post. I didnt want to exceed the max path.
When a file path exceeds 256 characters in SharePoint, things start to breakdown, avoid using special characters. and you’ll avoid recieving http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894630/en-us?p=1 “The specified file or folder name is too long”
Here’s more info on URL path length restrictions: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff919564(v=office.14).aspx
You can also avoid, the ole “red badge of courage” in powershell by keeping those names short on your files and folders, all while avoiding the use of special characters. . . . http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247(VS.85).aspx
